OutCYd the Routine with Melanie Tham

AMES, Iowa— Hosted by eight-time All-American, Janet Anson, "OutCYd the Routine" allows fans to get to know the 2009 Iowa State gymnasts on a more personal basis. The new feature also lets Cyclone faithful learn more about gymnastics with each ISU gymnast providing commentary to one of their routines. Each Friday cyclones.com will unveil a new installment of "OutCYd the Routine."

AMES, Iowa - Welcome to a new cyclones.com volleyball feature entitled, "In Kaylee's Corner," where each week, junior setter Kaylee Manns does a sit-down interview with one of her teammates. This week, the advertising major from Topeka, Kan., interviews senior middle blocker Jen Malcom, as she answers serious and "lighter side" questions.

Cyclones Start Strong with 79-54 Win at Northern Iowa

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa- The Iowa State women's basketball team got out to a quick start and never looked back, taking down Northern Iowa 79-54 Thursday night at the McLeod Center. The Cyclones shot 48.3 percent from the field and drained 10 three-pointers to control the contest throughout.Kelsey Bolte led ISU with 17 points, all of them coming in the first half. Heather Ezell finished with 13 points and Amanda Nisleit chipped in 11 for the Cyclones. Iowa State had a solid night on the glass, outrebounding UNI 53-29. Freshman Ashley Arlen led the rebounding charge, with 11 boards, while Alison Lacey turned in a career-high 10 rebounds.

AMES, Iowa - Watch this week's "Coordinator Corner," as offensive coordinator Robert McFarland and defensive coordinator Wayne Bolt give an insider's look at the offensive and defensive keys to the game at Kansas State after reviewing film.  The duo also talk about current redshirts making an impact in practice.

ISU vs Texas Tech Matchups

UPDATE: ISU Offense vs. Tech Defense is now up as well.

UPDATE 2: Special Teams is up

This is where defensive coordinators earn their pay and make their reputations. Texas Tech presents the most productive offense in the country, yet I think their are reasons for optimism as ISU squares off in Lubbock. Read the matchup analysis and let me know your comments.

I don't like losing

I don't like losing anymore than the next guy and am not interested in moral victories, but I do like this team. I like the intensity. I like our physical play. I like our attitude. We need to eliminate a lot of mistakes, special teams and turnovers, but there is a lot to like about this team. I am excited for the future, frustrated by losing, but like our team

ISU vs. Nebraska Matchups Meyer and crew vs. the Blackshirts

This is going to be a fun matchup to watch. In many ways I wish I could watch this a football fan, not a Cyclone fan because it will be an interesting matchup to see how it plays out. I could create an argument for this to swing very favorablly and also very unfavorably for our Cyclones. I posted my look at the matchup which you can find in the football group or just follow the link below.

Iowa State vs. Nebraska Matchups

I didn't expect going in to this season, to write many matchup stories where ISU's was expected to fare well. The turn around the Bolt has done on our defense has been very impressive. While Nebraska is the strongest offense ISU has faced, I expect a big things Saturday from the ISU defenders. Read the analysis in the link below. Link
